Here is our 65 beetle. Fun to drive and he gets plenty of looks out on the road.

Hi Marko,
The third number is a 5. Apparently when the original owner first bought it, the beetle was marketed as a 'poor man's vw' because it only came standard with one sunvisor, no glovebox cover and no fuel gauge.

Agree, you have a very nice bug there! Maybe this was a standard? No trim or badge on bonnett. Could be quite rare. Nicko 8-)

Thanks guys. As far as we know everything is fairly original on the bug except the replacement 1600 (we still have the original 1200), the lowering, the bumpers and the upholstery. Oh and yeh gearbox was replaced with a reconditioned one. Either way, we are pretty happy and love having a weekend drive (when it isn't raining of course!).
